At St Marie’s, we are proud to introduce our Pupil Leadership Teams, which empower our students to take on meaningful roles within our school and the wider community. These teams provide opportunities for pupils to grow as leaders, working together to make a positive difference.

Inspired by our Mission Statement—“Following the teachings of Christ so that we are His hands and feet!”—our leadership teams encourage pupils to live out Christ’s teachings through their actions, embrace every opportunity to learn and grow, and inspire others by setting a positive example. Through their commitment and service, they help to build a school community rooted in faith, respect, and a shared desire to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world.

Our Pupil Leadership Teams

Caritas Ambassadors

The Caritas Ambassadors are dedicated to putting faith into action by showing love, kindness, and compassion to others. They help to promote social justice, lead charitable initiatives, and raise awareness of those in need both locally and globally. Through their words and actions, the Caritas Ambassadors encourage our school community to live out the values of service, generosity, and care for all of God’s people.

School Council

The School Council is set up to enable the children here at St Marie’s to have a say in the running of their own school. In this way, our children have a greater sense of belonging, become more confident when putting forward ideas and develop a greater understanding of the need to work co-operatively for the good of others.

Our school council is made up of two representatives from Y1 to Y6. These members have to give election speeches to their class before voting takes place each October.

The elected members then represent the views of their class and discuss any issue arising in school at school council meetings, which are held once a term.

Eco Committee and Eco Warriors

At St Marie’s, our Eco Committee and Eco Warriors lead the way in caring for God’s creation, organising activities like litter picking, planting flowers and vegetables, running energy-saving initiatives, and learning how to reduce waste, while exploring how our actions can make a positive impact on the environment.

Prayer Leaders

Prayer Leaders guide our school community in prayer, leading reflections, worship, and moments of silence that help everyone grow closer to God and live out our mission of being His hands and feet.

Play Leaders

At St Marie’s, Play Leaders help make playtime fun, safe, and inclusive by organising games, supporting younger pupils, and encouraging everyone to work together and show kindness.

Subject Ambassadors

At St Marie’s, Subject Ambassadors celebrate and promote learning across the school, sharing their passion for different subjects, inspiring others, and helping to make lessons engaging and exciting for everyone.

Together, these groups embody our commitment to following the teachings of Christ so that we are His hands and feet, encouraging their peers to live out our Catholic values in all that they do. The Pupil Leadership Teams at St Marie’s strengthen our school community and extend our impact beyond the classroom, showing that when we act with faith, love, and a desire to serve others, we can make a lasting difference in the world around us.
