Every year, our Year Six children are given the unique responsibility of helping to welcome and nurture our new Reception children. They become special friends. These beautiful friends help our reception children to grow in confidence and to develop a sense of belonging in our school. Our Year Six children use their compassion, empathy and sense of humour as they accept their responsibilities as gardeners to their little seeds; they help them to grow.

The children meet up regularly throughout the year. They play together, they exchange cards and messages, pray and worship together and spend quality time together. Our Year Six children tell us that having a special friend in reception is always one of their highlights of the year.
